Gareth Pugh collaborates with Ruth Hogben to come up with this video presentation instead of a runway catwalk at Paris Fashion Week to introduce his autum/winter 2009 collection. A brave step indeed. This enchanting film showcases fluidity in the materials, strength in the aesthetics combined with carefully choreographed 'performances' by the models and incredible styling.  A whole new level in viewing fashion, front row at Paris Fashion Week is just a click away ;-)

Beer Can Butterflies

Paul Villinski transforms crushed beer cans into stunningly delicate butterflies. The 'motion' of these butterflies makes them seem somewhat magical although they remain attached to a piece of wire. There is a rhythm in each artwork with different colours and findings combined, at first glance they look like paintings. 

Let's Get Jazzy!

Here's an interview with groundbreaking Ethiopian Jazz musician and arranger, Mulatu Astatke and U.K collective The Heliocentrics about their forthcoming album 'Inspiration Information 3' under Strut Records. On a different note, i spent last Saturday night chilling to Brazillian World Percussion Ensemble at No Black Tie. Led by VALTINHO ANASTACIO of Sao Paolo who has lived and performed in Japan and New York, the rest of the crew features our very own Lewis Pragasm on drums, Tay Cher Siang on piano and Norman on bass. The crowd was small but attentive and the ensemble was spontaneously breezy but lively. A nice way to end an evening.
